Youth Teams National Finals Appearance Gives Program Huge Boost
The strong performances from the U15 Boys and U16 Girls teams at the Super Y league National Finals will give the whole club a huge boost, Phantoms GM Jim DeDeus believes. "This was an opportunity for us to show the progress we have made with our teams in the first three years of our youth program. We had a five year plan and we are ahead of it."

The U15 boys were one of the top teams at the Finals and won their group with 2 wins over the New York Rough Riders and Cleveland Internationals as well as a tie with Santa Clara Sporting Ruckus. They advanced to the National Semi-Final were they met a very good Schultz Academy team. Schultz started very strong while the Phantoms looked nervous and were up 4-0 by half time. The Phantoms pulled 2 goals back and looked themselves in the second half before Schultz advanced with a late goal. They went on to win the final over Reading Rage. DeDeus heaped praise on the team and Head Coach Suleyman Doenmez.
"This team has a lot of talent and Suley has done a wonderful job putting them together into as good a team as you will find in the region. I know Suley and the boys now have a taste for the title and will be looking to return next year."

The U16 Girls were one of the surprises of the tournament having qualified by virtue of a wildcard. They opened the tournament with a 1-0 victory over Spokane Shadow to open some eyes. On day 2 they lost 1-0 to eventual winners Cleveland Soccer Academy on a dubious offside call. That meant that a victory over group leaders Cal Cougars on day 3 was needed to give them a chance of advancing to the semi-finals. The game ended 1-1 which put both teams out and put Cleveland Soccer Academy through who defeated Ottawa Fury and Parsippany to win the title. DeDeus was excited about the girl's performance;
"For us to perform so well in only the second year of our girls program is phenomenal and underlines the progress we are making. Both these team's performances demonstrate that we can be one of the top programs in the region while doing things the right way. I believe our coaching staff is second to none in this region and I think our future is really bright."
